Breaking news:: President Buhari asks Oshimole to resign

BREAKING: President Buhari asks Oshimole to resign » NAIJweb•com™Broniupdate.com

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole’s continued call for the impeachment of Senate President Bukola Saraki was unnecessary because his party does not have the votes to remove the Senate President.

Onuesoke asked Oshiomhole to do the headcount to convince himself that his party does not have the votes to do so. Onuesoke Onuesoke The PDP chieftain, who spoke in Abuja, said Oshiomole’s demand on Saraki to resign or be impeached was undemocratic.

He described the APC Chairman as day-dreaming, stressing that, as things stand, it would be impossible for the APC to get 73 senators, in a parliament of 109, to impeach Saraki. He pointed out that the leadership of the Senate can only be decided by senators, adding that Oshiomhole as APC Chairman was totally out of place to lecture Nigerians on who must lead the upper chamber..

“I don’t know where Oshiomhole was when Governor Tambuwal defected from the PDP to the APC with PDP’s speakership. APC accepted him with so much fanfare. Again, the other day, Senator Akpabio defected to the APC and Oshiomhole was dancing.

Why is he so pained and angry now that Saraki has decided to leave APC?”, he said. He faulted Oshiomohle’s argument that for the first time in Nigeria democratic history a senate president was elected from the majority party and the deputy was elected from a minority party. Hear him, “Oshiomole should know the history of Nigeria.

When Joseph Wayas was elected senate president in 1979, his deputy came from the NPP. “So why are they killing themselves over Ike Ekweremadu of PDP who is the Deputy Senate President? When you want to build instead of divide, you can make some concessions to accommodate others. I don’t see anything wrong in having a member of the opposition party as the deputy senate president if the interest of the nation is uppermost .”
