Jeison Rodriguez might never be able to go bowling, but he can lay claim to having larger feet than any other human. On the down side, the 22-year-old had to travel more than 5,000 miles just to pick up some new shoes to fit his size 32 feet. Jeison, from Venezuela, cannot buy shoes that fit in a normal shop, so has been working with specialist German shoemaker Georg Wessels for six years. He has now left his homeland for the first time ever to travel to Germany to make sure his new shoes fit. 04 June 2018, Vreden, Germany: Jeison Rodriguez, the man with the world's biggest feet shows his new shoes at the Wessels shoe house. The 22 year- old from Venezuela wears a size 68 and has had his shoes specially made for him by a Shoemaker from Vreden (near the Borders of Netherlands) for the past 5 years. Guiness World Records has confirmed on June 4, 2018 that his massive feet with 40.55 cm left and 40.57 cm right are still the world's biggest feet. Photo: Bernd Thissen/ Jeison isn’t able to treat himself to new shoes very often (Picture: Avalon) Jeison is 7ft 3in, while his left foot is 1ft 3.6in and his right measures 1ft 3.8in. He suffers from acromegaly, a disorder that results in an excess growth hormone due to a benign tumour. Mr Wessels said: ‘I got to know him six years ago when we were contacted by his nieces, who asked us if we could get him some shoes. ‘I made the footwear for him, which were way too small, so we had to make new shoes again.’ Before getting to know the shoemaker, Jeison said he had to make shoes from ‘trouser material’ – but the German has regularly sent him special orthopaedic shoes free of charge. Pic shows: Jeison Rodriguez' new shoes next to a pair of normal sized female shoes. A South American man who holds the Guinness World Record for having the largest feet on Earth has hot-footed it all the way to Europe to get a pair of size 32 shoes at a specialist shop. Jeison Rodriguez, 22, left his native Venezuela for the first time in his life to travel to Europe to meet with German shoemaker Georg Wessels. Wessels, who has shops in the German town of Vreden and Dutch city of Zutphen, specialises in making shoes for those who are unable to find a pair that fits in a normal shop. Rodriguez, who at 7-foot 3 inches tall has size 32 shoes (1-foot 3.8 inches right, 1-foot 3.6 inches left), suffers from acromegaly, a disorder that results in an excess growth hormone due to a benign tumour. Wessels said he initially came up with the plan to make shoes for the giants of this world as a PR stunt in order to promote the shoe shops he runs with his brother. He said: "I soon got to know the people and realised the drama behind their stories." For the last six years, Wessels has made and sent special orthopaedic shoes to Rodriguez in Venezuela without charge. Wessels said: "I got to know him six years ago when we were contacted by his nieces, who asked us if we could get him some shoes. "I made the footwear for him, which were way too small, so we had to make new shoes again." Jeison Rodriguez explained that he just kept on growing and "had to start making shoes out of trouser material" before he got to know Wessels, who once travelled all the way to Jeison's hometown of Maracay to make them for him. Wessels said: "We have to make sure the shoes are strong as he weighs a lot more than us. "The shoes have to be stable, but at the same time soft as he is a diabetic. They cannot be tight anywhere because he would get an infection." Thanks to the generosity of Wessels and other benefactors, Rodriguez has been given the chance to travel to Europe to pick up four new It was his first ever trip outside his native Venezuela (Picture: CEN) Mr Wessels added: ‘We have to make sure the shoes are strong as he weighs a lot more than us. ‘The shoes have to be stable, but at the same time soft as he is a diabetic. ‘They cannot be tight anywhere because he would get an infection.’ Jeison said being in Europe is ‘great’ and he is ‘very happy’ with his new footwear.
