England will clash with Croatia in the semi-final at Luzhiniki Stadium in Moscow. England will be hoping to do away with Croatia following their superb run in Russia.
Gareth Southgate’s men saw off Sweden with 2-0 victory, but Croatia will provide England with one of the toughest challenges, and the Three Lions are up for the task, especially Croatia needed penalty shootout to beat Denmark and Russia to reach the last four.
England and Croatia met seven times before, with Three Lions winning four times, losing twice and sharing a draw. These two nations drew their opening match back in 1996. England then won the first competitive clash at Euro 2004. Croatia got their own back over the Euro qualifiers, beating English 2-0.
Jordan Pickford revealed that his thumb was hurt in a moment of frustration in their win against Sweden. The only fitness concern for Gareth prior to this clash is Jamie Vardy although he was fit on Saturday.
Croatia are waiting see if Danijel Subatic who suffered from hamstring and Sime Vrsaljko who injured his knee will be fit to face England. The pair will be monitored after suffering injuries in Saturday’s victory over Russia on penalties.
