Congratulations are in order for Ebonyi State Commissioner of Police, Madam Peace Ibekwe Abdallah who has been promoted to the enviable rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police.

The AIG is well known for her enchanting smiles that even in her official portrait she couldn’t help but smile.

The Governor of Ebonyi, David Umahi once described the amazon by saying “Her joviality should not be taken for granted because somebody who smiles like her can be strict and even difficult.: “I am very impressed with the Nigeria Police of today”

Born on April 7, 1963, AIG Peace Ibekwe Abdallah hails from Onitsha in Anambra State. Her journey in the Nigeria Police which started 29 years, when she was enlisted into NPF as a cadet ASP, has been tough and eventful. But, through hard work (and plain good luck too), she rose steadily up the ladder of police officers’ ranks and was promoted to the rank of Commission­er of Police (CP).

Her first assignment as Commissioner of Police was head­ing the Monitoring Unit, Force Head­quarters Abuja.

BREAKING:Adamawa gov poll declared inclusive

The Governorship election in Adamawa state has been declared inconclusive. Prof. Andrew Haruna stated so, while declaring the results in Yola, Monday morning. He cited the principle of the margin of lead, saying the slim margin of 32,476 necessitated the inconclusive declaration. As according to him, ballots cancelled for various infractions amounted to 40988 which is higher than the margin of lead. He therefore, called on the electorate to exercise patience, while the commission fixes a new date to conclude the exercise in the affected 44 Polling Units in 28 Registration Areas. However, the results as announced, indicates that Ahmed Umar Fintiri, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is leading in the Governorship race in Adamawa state. Fintiri polled 367,471 votes, while the incumbent governor, Jibrilla Bindow of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), scored 334,995.
